MotorTrend Names Ram Heavy Duty 2020 Truck of the Year

Completely redesigned for 2019, Ram's heavy-duty truck lineup is lighter, stronger, and more powerful than ever. From their bold exterior style to their upscale and highly accommodating interiors, the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 have set a new standard in their segment.

Today's full-size trucks already offer immense power under the hood and soaring payload and tow ratings. So, instead of focusing only on increasing those already lofty numbers, the team at Ram set its sights on improving everything else. The result is one of the most attractive, comfortable, and feature-packed pickups from the inside out.

Trucks are often used on the jobsite and by tradespeople who are always on the go, so Ram crafted an interior in which drivers would want to spend their time. A true mobile office, the Ram's quiet, refined, and high-tech cabin provides an experience that drivers will look forward to. Headroom and legroom are abundant throughout, and advanced technology makes it easy to stay connected.

However, just because power wasn't the main focus, doesn't mean improvements weren't made. Under the hood, a standard 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 produces a robust 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. If you're looking for maximum torque, the available 6.7-liter six-cylinder Cummins turbodiesel is sure to please. The standard version churns out 850 pound-feet of torque, and the high-output version achieves an even 1,000 pound-feet of torque.

Ram's attention to improving the entire truck experience (not just power numbers) is the reason why the Ram Heavy Duty lineup was name 2020 MotorTrend Truck of the Year.
